Yay colors! Also the last thing I'm coloring now until I can get myself some new pencils (again) 
Anyways, the only cats with non-retractable claws are the cheetah and the fishing cat, so why are Scar's claws always shown? From a design standpoint it's to make him look more evil of course, but as far as character and story goes why? My theory is that being so much smaller and weaker, his claws were his only real means of defense. Maybe that's why he seems so concerned with keeping them extra sharp and always visible. Could have started with frustration, always being beaten by Mufasa in "pinned ya" type games and such - and eventually just became habit. That or was he just born with claws unlike any other lion?
